There is a 2.5 mile hiking trail, and on weekdays, you can hike on the 22+ miles of horse trails. A beach and bathhouse are open in the summer. You can also rent boats, pedal boats or fishing boats at the lakes. And in the summertime, the whole family will enjoy the celestial observatory. For your convenience, there are camps for setting up your tents, trailers or RV's. Or you may rent one of the 20 cottages that are available. Lake Oconee is the second largest lake located entirely within the State of Georgia. It consists of 19,000 acres bordered by Greene, Morgan and Putnam counties. The shoreline of Lake Oconee at full pool is 376 miles! Lake Sinclair is a close "neighbor", and the two lakes are separated by Wallace Dam. Lake Oconee has it all - affluent golf communities, million dollar mansions, equestrian communities, and, of course, a gorgeous lake! The sight-seeing is fantastic!
